Open in the diary →Another month overseas. Easter Sunday today. Left 0730 in company with the Randolph - Hunt - Tingey. Rescued pilot who crashed at sea. It took us three minutes to get him out of the water and in 18 minutes he was back his carrier. We think this a new record.
Open in the diary →Nice weather. The Hunt in our squadron was hit by a suicider today. Damage was not serious. The destroyer Sigsbee was also hit today by suicide. We have been under attack all last night and today. Looks like they will keep us up tonight to. We shot down one plane last night. That is our 6th.
