Cloudy & rough. The Houston was torpedoed yesterday, coming over to join our group. Still retiring at four knots. We are now being used as bait to get the Jap fleet out. Now 220 miles from Formosa. We were attacked by torpedo bombers. At 1510 the Houston took another fish. We shot down both planes. Picked up 12 men not wounded, 3 wounded, 3 dead. Sixty plane raid come in on us. Cabots planes shot down 30 planes, cowpens pilots shot down 19. Our two cans got six. Buried the dead 1810. Everyone is on edge.
